Ford Officially Debuts Refreshed 2018 Mustang

If you happened to be asleep yesterday, then you missed the news that the 2018 Mustang is getting a bit of a refresh. Ford has officially released news about what exactly will change on the new 2018 ‘Stang. Let’s take a look at the most important parts.

An exterior re-design is happening. While the changes are subtle, it looks noticeably different. Obvious changes appear at the lower part of the front bumper, with a wider lower grille. Headlights are re-designed, too, with a more “athletic look.”

One forum member has already pointed out that the new design is a bit droopy looking. But then again, seeing it in person may be a different thing altogether.

Other news confirmed by Ford is the addition of more power for both the EcoBoost and 5.0 motors. Output is not listed, but “wide open throttle” overboost torque will be increased for the 4-cylinder. Horsepower will be “higher than ever before” through Ford’s application of dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection, and low-pressure port fuel injection.

Ride technology will improve through the use of MagneRide dampers. And connectivity will be easier than ever through Ford’s SYNC system and FordPass technology. That connects your car directly to your smartphone. You’ll now be able to lock, unlock, locate and start your car directly from your phone. It even comes with pre-collision assist, which includes a pedestrian detection system.

Ford claims you can have your Mustang any way you want it through new color and wheel choices, too. And of course the interior light coloring.
