Ford Unleashes New California Package for 2016 Mustang

Although the new Mustang might have a more global market now, there still isn’t anything quite like California’s love for the Ford pony car. So it should come as no surprise that Ford is coming out with a new special edition package for the S550 that pays homage to the Golden State.

Based on news we’re hearing for the 2016 models, the California Special pack (known as GT/CS) is expected to come with special badges, chrome detailing, go-faster stripes, as well as exclusive alloy wheels and a rear spoiler, according to a Motor Authority report.

In other 2016 news, exterior color choices for the Mustang will now reportedly include Competition Orange, Shadow Black, Triple Yellow Tri-coat, Guard, Deep Impact Blue, Magnetic, Race Red, Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Ingot Silver, and Oxford White.

It appears that the colors Kona Blue and Wimbledon White will no longer be offered.

We’re expecting to get official word next week on more official 2016 changes, which should include a Gen III SYNC infotainment system that’s expected to be a lot more user friendly.
