Entire Mustang History in Less than 300 Words

If you ever come across someone in need of a crash course on the history of the Mustang, you might want to point them to the piece below by Jack O’Malley of 9&10 News.

I know, the idea that Mustang Forums would refer readers to another source for insight on the Ford pony car might seem a little odd, but the fact that Mr. O’Malley has managed to sum up the history of the Mustang in less than 300 words just can’t go unnoticed.

The piece, posted as a part of O’Malley’s recurring “Jack’s Journal” series, covers everything from the very first Mustang to the “retro” movement that drove models in the mid-2000s.

In fact, you might say that it’s a Cliffs Notes source of sorts, highlighting the past five decades of the car. One of my favorite lines in O’Malley’s roughly 270-word story is this: “It introduced the pony car, the smaller vehicle with the big engine, to the muscle-car segment, and Ford gave the buyer options.”

Direct and straight to the point, right? That pretty much sums up O’Malley’s approach to every important milestone in the history of Mustang, which is what makes the piece so great.
