Mustang Sales Through the Roof in the U.K.
Totally insane!
That probably best sums up in two words how well the Mustang is selling in Europe.
According to Road & Track, Ford has sold 2,317 units of their pony car in the U.K. since January, which is more than any other 250-plus horsepower car. That’s 871 more cars than the Jaguar F-Type, the second biggest seller. For a deeper comparison, BMW and Porsche have each sold just around 1300 6-Series and 911 models since January.
The Mustang GT has achieved such popularity in the U.K. this year with the current split shaking out to be about 70-percent opting for the 5.0-litre V8 engine and 30-percent for the 2.3-litre EcoBoost.
But it does continue to make us wonder whether or not the sales for Ecoboost Mustangs have lived up to Ford’s initial expectations. Or if a modern day four-cylinder Mustang is just a tough sell, particularly in Europe.
