hood struts
#22
They changed the setup sometime after 06. I had the first setup and you really could not do anything from the side and it interfered with the intercooler mount on the drivers side. I called Redline after noticing that they moved the lower part of the strut closer to the windshield and they said they changed it as it would accommodate the intercooler mount for the GT500.....check there site. Are the struts brand new? does it come with everything needed to properly install to your car? If it was on another car and your transferring to yours it wont work as you need new parts from Redline. If that is the case they wont sell you just the parts needed unless you were a customer before and it helps protect them from people selling them afterward (knock offs or something-it written on the site). I have another hood but everything that is riveted to the car is still on the car so you can get a kit of parts needed to put another hood on the same car but not a different one Hope it helps!

I just ordered a set from the link below. Basically I wanted the same color as the car and no drilling.

CDC Hood Struts
I just ordered a set of these in black for $83 shipped. There was a sale at the following site that you can probably still get in on. You're supposed to be a member there which I am. Just eliminate the spaces.

Mine just came in today after just three days. No need to drill holes and plenty of room from the side to work on the engine.

I don't think you have to worry at all about the hood scoop. I have the Cervini's C-500 hood and trust me it weights a TON more than the factory hood (sorta pissed me off when I unpacked it for the first time). I'd bet my next paycheck that you will have no problems with just a factory hood scoop. With that being said hurry up and go get them!!!

Talked with Phil at Trufiber and he said these (http://trufiber.com/p-98-nxt-hood-shocks.aspx) will work perfect with my Trufiner Venom Hood. No additional drilling, you are able to reuse all existing mounting hardware....just have to wait until I have the extra cash.
