Default hood struts

I know the info is out there but every search i do gives me stuff about suspension. Anybody know what is the best make to go with or one to avoid? I'd love to get rid of the prop rod but no fun when the struts go out and the hood falls had that happen with the Mountaineer not fun having your hand stuck in the hood luckly it was just my one hand and i could reach around with the other to open the safety latch

I have the Redlines and have been very happy with them. You need to drilll holes and use rivets but it is a pretty easy install and the directions are good. My hood hasn't fallen yet.

I've got the ones from MRT and they work just fine for me.

I have MRT hood struts and haven't had any problems. You can see them in this picture no drilling required really easy to install.

Anybody know of any hood struts that will work with an aftermarket (Cervinis) hood? Seems like most of them say not recommended for aftermarket hoods...
