In my humble and often misguided opinion, on the highway, sequentials give the impression that you're changing lanes faster than you are. It's sort of an illusion the way that red looks "faster."

But hell, that's exactly why I bought them.

A little research has produced this - http://mustangtaillightsequencers.com/ and for $70 on eBay as long as you don't mind splicing, you're all set. I spoke to one of their guys and this will indeed make all three bulbs running/brake/turn capable - meaning dual intensity.
The socket, and the bulb as it came from the factory, should be the same as the other lights. There is simply no wiring attached to the socket to light the second filament. This is of course, as I recall.

since 2010 will be led you cant be sure they will retro fit.however you can be sure that if the ford dealer installs them ,it might just be cheaper to buy a 2010 for parts and do the swap yourself

Heres a good tech question in regards to this topic. I have an 07 gt. I replaced the tail lights with LED tail lights which are considered like the ruby red ones that MOSS Mustangs sell. Anyway, its an entire tail light housing thats leds plug into the stock harness in place of the stock bulbs. I used to have an actually led seq bulb kit that tapped into the stock harness. Does anyone know how or where I could get a seq kit that would I guess plug into the stock harness and still be connected to the after market tail lights that I bought..

If you are worried about the sequentials becoming common, go with the chase look instead. By Meter4It. Way cool.

I bought mine from American Muscle 8 months ago. It took less than 15 minuntes to install them. I've had no problems, just compliments.

The 2010s dont have a sequential kit persay.
Its programming ion the SmartJunctionBox and
I dont think the Dealer would be able to 'install'
2010 sequentials on your 09 GT. You need inner
bulb sockets and wiring thats just not there.
Plus the 09 SJB programming with 2010 sequential
logic is something they cant and wont do for you.

Exactly, what's all that low intensity and dual intensity BS.
