Thanks for the input guys.

I'll probably go ahead and get the Shaker system. I know I'll be kicking myself in the *** later if I don't get it.

I do have one more question though. Are the woofers in the doors 6" or8"? They look like 6's, but I saw in another thread people talking about mounting 8's.

They are 8's as far as I know. I have the shaker 500 and its a pretty nice sounding system. Some people will complain about it, but some people will complain about anything. For a stock system its really good. My cd's have never skipped in my 2007.

I did get the Shaker 1000 and was not happy with the sound. It was OK but not exceptional. I did replace the head unit (see my mods), the upper door speakers and added sound deadening. All the rest of the amps, door subs, trunk subs and rear deck speakers remained. Now I have a killer system and did not waste the whole system. I do have a Shaker 1000 head unit brand new for sale now. I am using the old upper door speakers in the garage stereo system - sound awesome there.

Im getting the 07 deluxe stock stereo..cause Im just gonna change it anyways. Does anyone know if it has the wires at the sub spot in the door...like can I mount a 8" sub in the door where their should be one with the shaker 500 setup. Has anyone with the stock deluxe system replaced theirs? and can you tell me what wires are in the doors? I know I can run wires their anyways..Im an expert in installing car audio equipment..just wondering if it already has the wires their? thanks

The door subs are 8", and I have heard that they get blown really easy. I opted for the base model and I am adding an amp and sub to it. I like the look of the stock head unit in the Mustangs. I have the MP3 player input in my armrest, and I love that option. I don't carry 1 single CD in my Mustang.

With Std Radio/CD you get clean door panels; upgrade from there if you must.
