shaker 500 CD player
I’m trying to use the MP3 function on my 07 shaker 500 CD player. I’m using Windows Media Player 11 to set setup my play list and burn the CDs. Can anyone tell me how to burn the CDs so that the MP3s play in the same sequence that they are in on the Media Player play list. Works fine with audio CDs but not MP3s. The manual documents that they play like this:
MP3 track and folder structure
Your MP3 system recognizes MP3 individual tracks and a folder structure
as follows:
• There are two different modes for MP3 disc playback: MP3 track mode
(system default) and MP3 folder mode.
• MP3 track mode ignores any folder structure present on the MP3 disc.
The player sequentially numbers each MP3 track on the disc (denoted
by the .mp3 file extension) from T001 to T255.
• MP3 folder mode represents a folder structure consisting of one level of
folders. The CD player sequentially numbers all MP3 tracks on the disc
(denoted by the .mp3 extension) and all folders containing MP3 files,
from 01–01 to 99–99. The first two digits denote the folder number and
the last two digits denote the track number within that folder.
• Creating discs with only one level of folders will help with navigation
through the disc files.

I can't stand the shaker 500. My biggest bitch about it is that it cuts out between each track on cds and then skips into the next track. Plus if you leave a cd in the 6 disc changer for like more than two weeks it skips like crazy. I hate that cd player! [:@]

WHAT would anyone expect from a "factory system" ? MINE, works fine, for what I expect from it.
IF, you "choose" to "rapid play", change discs, etc.... "DOWNLOAD, include MP3" stress the S500,
YUP, you'll have problems.
IT's "WHAT IT IS ", not WHAT you think it IS !!!!!!!

Mine works fine other than I cannot get it to play MP3s in the play list sequence that I burned them. From reading all the information I can find, it looks like the CD player does not use a play list to play the recorded MP3s and assigns its own play order based on some unknown file name structure.

I use a program called Nero 7, you can burn CDs in MP3 mode and I put different artist in different folders because it is easier to navigate songs. And am I the only person in all the Mustang ethuasist websites/forums that likes the Shaker 500? maybe because it is my first car and my parents bought it for me, but it is loud and got decent bass.
