non ic Whipple vs paxton ic
I have narrowed my supercharger search to two different chargers the black non ic whipple kit and the intercooled paxton kit from brenspeed. I know the advantages and disadvantages of both blowers. I am leaning toward the whipple kit. I like the idea of having power early in the power band, but I also like the idea of having the inter cooler of the paxton and the first class tune by brenspeed. I already have their JLT intake and sct2 tuner package and absolutely love it. Another thing is I live in Seattle where it rains a lot, so outside temps will not be a factor as much, but traction will become an issue when it is wet. Will the torque of the whipple at low rpms create just to much power and lack of traction for a wet surface? This is my DD so I don't want to have to drive in a state of fear due to losing control easily. I am also doing a complete suspension re haul.
Thanks for your input.
PS I have an 07 5spd gt.

What's a non ic Whipple? Non intercooled? I didn't even know they did them. After having driven my Whipple with a dry intercooler system (long story) I can say that it's a bad idea. High intake temps will make the OBC wind the spark back so much you'll long for the power of a Toyota Previa.
uh-huh

basically when it's wet out, you just drive
normal. this means no flooring it, or you're
gonna spin immediately
if you're not gonna upgrade the whipple non-ic
down the road, i would want you to get the paxton.
i believe the kit brenspeed is selling is a quality kit.
good luck with your project and don't rush into any
purchases.....you only get one shot at it and you should
know what your getting into, so you can enjoy it
for years to come....

I don't think you can wrong with either. I went with the Brenspeed Paxton for several reasons and am very pleased with the results. I know the twin screws build power early but I have no problems getting power when I need it. The Paxton set-up is very streetable so in a wet environment that may fit your needs. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and good luck! Let us know what you decide.

I'd have to say the Paxton looks like the best option between the two.
The non intercooled is only 6psi boost and Whipple says it makes around 415 horsepower.
They aren't specific but I think that's at the crank since they say the
Intercooled system is rated at 500+ horse and I know they are only around 450 to 475 at the wheels (depending on the on the tune).
Brenspeed advertises 460 at the wheels!
Also, the non intercooled Whipple doesn't come with a fuel pump upgrade and the Paxton comes with the Kenne Bell boost a pump.
That should indicate there's a big difference in overall power.
I was looking at the same Paxton system a few months ago but personally I just liked the way the Whipple looked, sounded and the fact that I didn't have
to tap a hole in the oil pan...

RE: non ic Whipple vs paxton ic
Wanted to thank you guys for the replies. I am going to go with the brenspeed kit. I was quite impressed with his cai plus tune and have read the forums and it seems like other people who have went with the paxton kit were quite impressed. Hopefully will have some pics of the install and have some dyno numbers soon.
