I did the support brace yesterday on stands, but i will put it up on ramps to do the torque limiters. When you install the brace, you remove the bolt to one of the front control arm bushings which I assume could cause trouble if the suspension was loaded. I would play it safe and put it on jack stands so you dont risk damaging the front control arm bushings. If you hate jack stands like me, just do the k member brace first (1 hour max), then put it down and put it on ramps to finish up. It's more work that way, but jack stands scare me.

Well I manned up and bought myself a sweet *** 3 ton floor jack and some 3 ton stands..all for less than $90...from Harbor Freight Tools. A "new opening" sale had this jack on sale for $69.99 in-store. A guy from Advance Auto Parts actually tipped me off about them...Advance is getting a good portion of my business from now on...at least that's where I'll go to bolster my pathetic socket and combo wrench collection.
Anyways, I was able to do this install in a few hours given my newness to working on cars. The new feel is AWESOME. I had gotten so used to shimmying when I would shift into any gear, and now I'm taken aback by how solid any shift is now...it's awesome. I just hope my torque limiters are at equal lengths :-/ haha.
Edit: going for the MGW shifter install by myself using TacoBill's writeup...
