Ford 6.8L 3V truck engine in a 2005+ Mustang GT?
#21
Nope.
First off, to avoid confusion, our cars are unibodies (I'm sure you know this)...
They have frame rails that are interrupted under the front seats roughly.
All body shells from 05 to now, are identical.
The Cobra has a HD crossmember to support the 5.4 set up.
All the sheet metal is the same, only the bolt on stuff changes from car to car.
Of course, convertibles are reinforced over a coupe to make up for the roof strength that is no longer there.

This is one biased magazine anyway... They're all about foreign stuff.
The only reason they gave good revues (after the facts) to the S197 is because it was too obvious that the car is the best in its class, just about.
The convertible surely is...
I've been wrong before as well, lol.
Stronger welds could be true from 07, but I thought it was mainly on the factory built race cars, like the FR500C etc...
Carroll Shelby might add a few more welds on his cars, but in any cases, I haven't heard of any body shell parts added or removed on any S197 platform.
If I'm wrong, please let me know. I don't mind being updated lol.
