Hey quick question? Will a strut bar off a gt500 or gt work on a v6. Second do they do anything? besides looks?

It will fit as per mossmustangs description of the item.
It adds more front end weight than it stiffens the chassis.
The S197s are stiff enough unless you road race every day.

it helps when you corner at higher speeds. other than that its just for show. i dont think the gt550 or gt one will fit the v6.

Default strut tower

I installed the gt500 KR strut tower brace from fordracingparts.com

Its a nice piece, solid, and its powder coated black with a ford racing engraved in the top. It doesnt clear the stock GT hood so i installed it backwards, but then it was riding too low and touching the intake manifold so i put some washers under the mounting points. it feels stiffer in the front end, when I hit a bump the chasis feels solid, less rattling.

I think a strut tower brace and A-Arm brace should go hand in hand, tighten up the top and bottom of the front end.
