Default Dead Pedal Carpet Worn Out!

I have 19,000 miles on my 07 GT, and I just noticed that the carpet on the dead pedal is worn out! i thought it was something caked onto the carpet and got down in there to clean it, but noticed that the carpet is gone. I was suspcious anyway, since I don't drive it in the winter, but come on! How on earth did this wear out, and what can I do to fix it?
Shouldn't that be a warranty issue? A carpet should last much longer than 19,000 miles!

To give you a better idea, it looks really bad, and is a big, white, bald patch. I would estimate 4 inches long and two inches wide.

I agree with you that it should last more than 19,000 miles but I doubt it would be a warranty issue. More than likely tho it would fall under normal wear and tear. I would take it to an automotive upholstery shop and see what they can do.

Default CDC Dead Pedal !

Just install a Classic Design Concepts dead pedal and you'll be good to go. They fit great and work great and if you have the Mustang upgraded stainless steel pedals it is a perfect match to them. I added it to my Mustang within a month of when I purchased it new and all is perfect with my carpet.

Here's the lnk:

I just picked up mats that have a dead pedal cover from here: Link

They're bigger than the stock mats and cover a lot more (including the dead pedal area. I got the ones with the tri-bar pony and they're pretty high quality.

Or get some floor mats that cover it up and protect that spot. These are cheap cars and not having something over that stock kinda goes to show it.

I had the same thing happen to me. Dealer replaced it under warranty, no questions, problems or anything. Mine had about 30k on it when I noticed it.

I agree with Chopper Man, it should be a warranty item and Ford should fix it. Just make sure you don't wear a pair of dress shoes or loafers when you go.

Thanks for the plug!

The Lloyd's mats are nice!
