Cervini's type IV hood P/N 1181
Looking to buy this hood in a few weeks. Has anybody bought one already painted? How was the fit/finish of it, if it was already painted? Should it even be bought painted, or should I fit it before getting it painted? Cervini's site says no hood pins required. Anybody running one without the hood pins? Anybody have some good pics of this hood?
Thanks

looks like the trufiber hood GTS, but theres no heat extracting vents... u dont need hood pins at decent speeds. up to 80 mph theres no problems. but anything after 80 i worry about hood float so dont exceed hat, soon i will get hood pins so i can go faster again

I didn't buy mine painted, but It needed very little work before. Hopefully they will catch anything during prep. Compared to a TF hood. well there is none. TF has great designs .....Just no Q.C....JMO...IPFI

Had mine painted. My hood hadn't cured at the factory quite long enough. There were a couple of areas a couple inches big each that had some pinhead bubbles popping up during the bake before paint prep. The body shop called Cervini and they repaired it - and it looks great except at just the right angle in just the right light you can see the texture in those couple spots isn't just right.
If I did it again, I'd talk tactfully & sternly to Cervini to make sure I got a hood shipped to me which was good & cured. I'd still have it painted locally. I have a real good pain shop that I trust. If there's anything I hate, its a less than super paint job. No idea what the paint coming out of Cervini looks like.

Sorry to read that Shanec. Did Cervinis paint it originally right? They should know to bake the hood for at least 3 hrs at a certain temp that has escaped my mind at the moment.
OP-
Cervinis fitment is great and the prep is minimal compared to some aftermarket companies. Go for it and you can get the hood you want with heat extractor vents and Va. Stang has that hood and hopefully they will post pics...hell I can find some for you..
