Default Maybe a new Mustang for the wife!

Ut-Oh, Nerds going into the S197 Sections! (Well, for my wife at least.)

She's looking at getting a 07 V6 and an 06 GT. (Leaning to the V6) She wants a sleeper so the only real visual mods will be a modest hood, tint, wheels and a drop. She also really likes the idea of me wanting to do a turbo project next. Are there T kits for the GT's or V6's already been proven for quality?

For the V6's, The X-Charger seems like a great mod for the price and I have also been researching the Vortech/procharger kits.

This will have a MAX of 400rw (less if it's an auto) and it wont be a power hungry monster like my car, lol.

If the choice between the V6 and V8 has anything to do with economy, the V8 gets about 2 MPG less on average on the highway than the V6 so, based on that, go with the GT.

It sounds like power is a main objective so, based on that, go with the GT.

There are quite a few FI packages out there that are of known reliability but most will gain you beginning as low as the low 400's on the GT. I can't say for the V6.

It's not necessarily my opinion that you should go with the gt.

If you go with the V6, powerhouse has a proven turbo.

If you know you want power than you might as well get the GT now though

400 isn't about power, 600+ is. (at least in our mind) 400 is just average mods to keep the car fun and to keep up with her sisters Cayenne. And to get to 400rw on a GT would cost nearly the same as the V6 anyway so the starting hp point doesn't matter. This will be a Street Radial Grocery Getter. From the searching I've done on here thus far, the xCharger will put the little 6er at the 400 mark fairly easy.

I'm pretty sure she's going to go with the V6 now. It's just a matter of working out the details of her power adder and plan. She told me flat out, "I will not start building this car without a plan, like you did on your car.", lol.

I'll check out the turbo system you recommended, thanks.

Are there anythings special I should really be concerned with the V6's?
