I swaped my boomtubes with the stock mufflers today. The boomtubes give you A TON of room to take the exhaust hangers off. I knew since i took the stock mufflers off, they are a pain to get some of the bolts with the huge muffler there. Since i knew i had to lossen the mid pip clamps, i thought about just taking the axle over pipes off (just off the the exhaust piping not off the car) and tring to just slide the axle backs off the hanger. It worked perfect, cut the time in half and was soo much easier.

I don't know if any one has tried this, but it does or at least to me, made the job quicker

Sounds like an interesting approach! ive done mine (and others) so many times now,that it only takes me 20 mins to switch out axlebacks (without jacking up the car) LOL.

i NEVER remove the hangers when I swap out my exhaust. I remove the mid-pipe clamps and get the mid-pipe loose, unbolt the muffler clamp, and wiggle them apart. Then slide the mufflers, or whatever is in place of the mufflers, right off the hangers.

This works only if the mufflers have both hanging rods pointing toward the rear, like stock mufflers do.

Great idea man, after my 4th exhaust swap i got tired of taking all the bs time to do it and just took it to QMS and had him throw it on the lift. lol
