Question Stock alarm question

I know you need the key with the correct program on it to work with the correct car, but will that prevent someone from "hot wiring" it? Also I was wondering if the stock alarm is even worth its salt at all or should I look into an aftermarket one with sensors and the like.

Thanks!

You have the whole alarm setup with the motion sensors and all? If you got that option I would keep it. It can tell if the car is jacked up or if someone puts their hand in your car with your windows down. Alarms dont do much if YOU cant hear them. If other people hear them they just get annoyed. I wouldnt do any upgrading, the stock one is nice and it lets you know when you turn the car on next time if there were any security events.

I dont know if the cars have a engine cutout so even if you start it without disabling the alarm or bypassing the key if it would start but I would say no but I could be wrong.
