Shelby perf. parts, beware

Shelby perf. parts, beware
Well, I never get a break with aftermarket stuff...
I installed a light bar from Shelby on a GT500 vert, that I will ship shortly to Europe.
The problem, still be the same on a GT or six banger though.
The passenger side bracket that secure the light bar tube wasn't indexed right when it got welded, so it makes the tightening a little funky if you don't have a "custom" Allen wrench like I have. The kit provides one but you'll need a ball-end one to correct the now wrong angle, because of that defective bracket (see second pic).
You're supposed to sneak the wrench through the seat belt slot in order to tighten the bar and you can't do it before the plastic top cover is on (last pic).
When it's done though, it looks good.

This isn't actually Shelby performance parts fault since they don't make the kit.
Aeroform makes it, so the bitchin' has to be addressed with them.
I wonder if I'm the only one that had that problem with this particular kit...
Anyway, besides that, the directions (not hat I follow them) were clear and easy to understand for the common Joe Schmoe.
They provide a long Allen wrench and it's a good thing, it has to be long, lol.
You'll need a saws all tool (1 1/4) to make a clean hole through that plastic cover and a rat file to get the final size hole if you don't have a carbide like I had on my drill.
A stencil is provided to show you where that hole has to be...
Make a mark with a punch, and drill with a 1/8 bit first to guide you when you'll drill to the 1 1/4 size.
Smooth the plastic out with 180 grit sand paper and you're ready to slide the bar into the bracket tube.

I forgot to take a picture of the light bar before install.
It's got a 1 1/4 tube that goes all the way through and sticks out on the bottom about 4", for those who were wondering...
The Aeroform logo goes towards the front (LH) of the car when you install the bar into the brackets.
When the top is up, the bar is about 1/2" away from the liner.
It's a good fit.

I never had an issue as well and I'm not blaming them.
I made this thread to warn people that it might not be a straight shot everytime, and if someone gets in that scenario, they'll just have to get the ball-end wrench.
Lot less pain than cut and re-weld that one bracket right.

Pardon my ignorance but, Do you know if this is the same kit as the CDC Light bar that American Muscle sells? I was planning on getting one for my convertible soon.
