Question slow response.. ?

i have a 2005 mustang gt.. and it seems like when i hit it a bit, it takes about a second (maybe a little less) for the power to kicks in.. is that normal or something wrong with my car..?

and what is granny mode ? does it have anything to do with the slow response ?

i'm sorry about the dumb questions lol

thanks in advance.

For a stock Stang it's pretty normal. From what I hear a cai and tine will get rid of alot of the lag. Or toy can reset the gas pedal which will help a bit but it's temporary

Yup that's pretty normal on a stock car, even with a tune you will still have a little lag, but not as bad. As remember our cars aren't torque monsters down low so it may just feel that way, but they pull damn good from 3000 up, unless you supercharge it then you can get some low end torque.

With my CAI and SCT tune it is all but gone, dont think you can ever get rid of it completely, I wish I could though because I miss the old instant there it is of older cars

There's a method to recalibrate the throttle but I don't remember the steps. Use the search feature. It's pretty simple and may help some. Other than a CAI & tune, my only other suggestions are to clean the MAF and reset the adaptive learning. But the CAI & tune will be a definite improvement.

Turn key on to run position, don't start.

wait till the lights on the dash go out.

Then press throttle down to floor in a smooth motion taking like 3 secs to do it.
Then let up in the same fashion.

Wait a couple secs the turn off.

Some people say you have to repeat it a few times *shrug*

Yup, sucks. Someone should develop a 'Downgrade' to a cable (like wooden Bender!)
