2011 Vert poll

[QUOTE=discodave;6825076][QUOTE=Orion240]When the top is down it will start to rise when I hit about 80 mph and don't have the cover over it. Road noise is noticeably higher than in the coupe.
That's something they fixed on the 2010..... When the top folds down the portion of the top that is exposed is vinyl on top (as they all are), with a very hard material (metal?) underneath. That's gives it a lot of weight and doesn't move at all at any highway speed. No cover necessary!
My 2009's top is cloth. Are you saying that the new 2010's only have vinyl tops?

That's assuming you remembered to put the top up when you parked!

I love my vert. Since it is a "second" car I would never own this car in a coupe. I've driven my friends coupe and would never think of buying it in that form. I have never had any issues with my top. I even hate driving my car with the top up, it makes me feel claustraphobic. In fact, I only drive my car when I CAN have the top down. The heater is good enough to keep me comfortable at 55 degrees F and up. If couds/rain is forecast, I take my other vehicle. But then again, I have that luxury. If this was to be my primary vehicle I might think twice.

I feel in love with the S197's body style because of the retro look to the 60's/early 70's Stangs. For whatever reason, the vert just doesn't move me anywhere near as much as the coupe does. I've owned verts in other car models but for a Stang, I wouldn't even consider it.

Just sold the 2000 ,had full stalker kit ,with 135,000 miles on it. Top was starting to get tired and rear window started leaking, wore out the pump and one cylinder in all that time. In Ohio they were summer miles and the top was down more than up. Replaced it with a 2008 GT. Ford finally had the brains to put in the heated seats. There is just something about a blond in a convertible

Performance wise Coupe, but for real fun in the sun, Vert all the way! Now if you have the option of getting a GT500 Vert or coupe both will be fun GT500 suspension for verts is getting some long awaited stiffening and rigidity!

I had an '06 vert and now have a '10. For the money, the mustang is the best engineered vert there is. Very little noise.
And fast getting the top up or down. One can put the top down at a stop light.
Beyound the obvious benefits of enjoying the scenery:
- If kids are in the back seat on a long trip - and will not be quiet - put the top down and the wind will mute their discussion/s
- It starts feeling hairy at about 110 mph (which is cool)
- There is a DSP mode in the audio system for "top down"
- On my '06, Ford tuned the suspension a little softer - I don't feel that on the '10 - and it is (Ford claims) 100% more rigid than the previous incarnation
Go for it . . .
