At 75MPH I turn about 2250 RPM with 3.55's on my manual. And the gear calculator confirms that. You must mean that you turn 2700 RPM with 4.10's at 75 MPH... And the gear calculator also confirms that.

So what you are basically saying is that nobody should be allowed to join this forum and post unless they first submit a copy of their diploma where they received an engineering degree from a university. Or at least pass a mathematics examination.

No needs, you're not one of the smart asses on this thread yet.

But you're letting your profession taking too big of a proportion here...
I'm guilty of that as well sometimes so it's nothing personal.

I sure don't get bent out of shape when people are calling their fender the "front quarter panel" on these boards. I know they mean the front fender. Key word being "Front".
It's like me saying a person has no clue to what they're doing to their car's appearance because they're modding it without being a pro. But a pro can do it for them just fine.
Same with gears... A non gear head (lol) guy can order gears for his car and use any freaking formula he wants as long as he states 4 and 10, he'll get the right stuff.
The pro already knows the ratio and what he's talking about.

Ring gear 41 teeth and pinion gear 10 teeth makes 41/10=4.10.
I'm not an engineer or a mechanic but that's more than I need to know to purchase correct gearing for my sled.

That is correct sir - stating rpms at 3.55:1 (everyone happy with this) would be irrelevant - where this thread went wrong I have no idea

C'mon, guyz. Everyone gets to go off on a tangent and vent/harass/annoy/ATTEMPT to show off every once in awhile. Even I have been know to take the douche bag detour... Isn't that right, pascal?

Let it go, gents. Besides, there are other threads just BEGGING for some asinine comments.

I'm a "helper" because I point out the obvious? And it's awful big of you to refer to someone as a "twit", especially when that person presents more tech knowledge than you have.

OK, we're done here.
I'll re-open this thread if the OP wants me to and if so, I'll edit the BS posts as they come up.
