About $450 per month, but I always pay $500 a month to get ahead.

Average car payment today is in the $800 range accoring to my cousin who is the finance manager at a chevy dealer locally.

Lol unless you're buying an older Vette, you'd have to put down a LOT of money to get a Vette payment under $500.

Hell, my CTS-V payment is $470 a month (4 years) at 3.6%. I put 4k down on it and it was only 24k. Now, I pay about $1500 a month on it just to pay it off quickly.

Since you used Corvettes as an example . . .

A 2010 Grand Sport model runs in the $65k range. Base models (not the Z06) are in the $50-52k range.

With a $10,000 down payment and 3.5% over 5 years, your monthly payment would still be between $727 and $1,000 a month.

Sorry to say, but $500 is not uncommon these days by any means.

Wow. No wonder why food stamp use is at a all time high, foreclosures, ect.

Why the hell are banks approving these kinds of loans for? paying around 10k a year car payment is living WAY beyond your means. Unless you are making big money.

When I bought my 2006 GT I had 3500 trade in and 6k down so I only pay 202$ a month.

When I buy a car Im putting at least half the value of the car as a down payment.

hehe that is just a couple of hundred under my mortgage. I couldn't imagine carrying a payment like that just for a DD.

$500 a month is nothing unusual at all. Regardless of some of these others who pay as little as $250, many many more '11 GT owners pay no less than $400 per month.

The reason why some of these other guys are able to get $350 or less is because they put large down payments on, have a trade in, and have excellent credit scores to get under 5% APR on their loans.

If you get $400 per month, even on a 72 month term with only like $4000 down on a lower end GT premium, you are doing damn good because you got a deal form the dealership and also got a very good interest rate.

Yep, a Vette is no Billy Bob car. These are very high dollar, and they are now for more of the richer folks. Would I mind having one? Sure, if I can afford it. But at where I am now, I do not want an $800 payment.
