True, Ford paint is awful. I wetsanded a part of my car that was recently painted by a serious auto painter, and it turned out great. Then I tried it on my spare door with Ford paint, and in 1/3 of the time I sanded through the clear.

Yeah we have quite thin clear coat. When I was buffing some scratches out with porter cable this summer I was scared of going through the clear. As far as the durability I think its hit and miss. My car is an 06 DD with 96k miles and knock on wood no major problems besides minor chips from interstate.

Ya, for mine i bought it used with low miles so who knows but as you can see by my sig that she's inside now. Now I will see if the xtra warrenty might fix it

jtfrog, did you buy your car brand new? I'm curious if that is a repaint job like pascal has suggested. I don't see that problem on mine. Thanks for posting the pictures.

It is a repaint job, believe me.
If he bought it new, they screwed the car up on the lot or upon delivery before it was sold whatever.
Won't be the first time this happened...

Like pascal said before, if they repainted or re-cleared your car without removing the ¼ windows, peeling or cracking in that area will occur. I suspect that is what happened.
