Gas Pedal sticking to floor at WOT
#11
If it does happen, you can always kill the engine by turning off the key of course.
It'd be worse in an automatic; at least with a manual you can put it in neutral and get it out of gear, even if it does rev-limit.

I remember a thread back in July or August that expressed concern about the pedal "box" structure for the '10 & '11 GTs. They described that they flexed alot in WOT conditions, and when power shifting. They talked about how the the pedal would remain fully depressed just like your gas pedal would remain fully depressed.
I am not sure if the '10 and '11 GT pedal "box" structures are exactly the same, but they mentioned that the pedal assembly from the GT500 immediately cures any stuck pedal problems.

The gas pedal sticking is not related to this flaw, for one major reason - the gas pedal in our cars is not directly linked to any moving parts (clutch, brake booster, throttle body, etc) as it's fly-by-wire. The only reason your gas pedal would stick down is something interfering with it, or a faulty return spring.

I have had the gas pedal sticking issue happen as well in my 2010 Grabber Blue Roush Premium GT. It normally only happens when i'm accelerating rapidly, usually from a stop or slow roll.
I plan on taking it in to the dealership when I return from Afghanistan to have them take a look. I haven't had it stick for more than a second or two as of yet, but i'd hate to find out what might happen.

Automatics can shift into neutral while moving as well.

there are many problems with the whole drive-by-wire systems and ours is similar to Toyotas, as far as the number of experienced problems. Not similar, unfortunately, in that Ford hasn't stepped up and recalled this dangerous part.
My 2005 GT would accelerate, then let off and the accelerate, going "vroom vroom vroom" with my foot completely off the gas pedal. It wasn't a floor mat issue (though I would recommend the OP checking to make sure that isn't the issue). If you're drag racing you are removing the floor mats and all extra weight, right?
I hope you haven't modified you Mustang. Be sure not to tell Ford service that you noticed the problem when racing, as they will say that they can't replicate the issue. Maybe take some high quality video of the problem?
