Complete Dash Removal
Ok, I won´t get into all I´m doing, but suffice to say I need to get the big one piece molding off in addition to all the trim.
I´ve gotten all the underside, the front, and the 2 hidden 10mm bolts that are normally hidden under the center console (as it´s out now). As well as the 2 passenger side airbag holder bolts and disconnected it.
It´s still being held in by something, I´m guessing the HVAC plastic tubing is attached somewhere? I can wiggle both ends(driver/pass), so I´m fairly sure I´ve not missed anything there..
Anybody have any experience doing this with the S197´s? All I could come up with in a search were all for the older body´s.

Wow. ..nothing but crickets.
Come´on, somebody has to have done this that frequents here.
I´ve followed this, but I´m still missing something somewhere.
Edit: ..And never-mind I figured it out. The plastic molding can't be removed on it's own, the whole shabang (console steel framing) has to go do to the way it's seated. Lame.

Here are a couple of shots with the console out. I got busy once I had it inside and got started, then forgot to take snaps with it out on it´s own, but it´s all one piece, steering wheel and all.
Don´t ask me why, but these got flipped upside down by imageshack... Wish I had this much leg-room when the console is in..

Is this not what Taco Bill did a write-up on in his little guide thread that is stickied? I could be wrong, but it might be a good start...
EDIT: Just saw you figured it out...need to read the updates you posted before I post, my bad. Glad you figured it out though.

Heavy as all hell though, and some serious surface rust on it. Surprising to me, as it´s only 3 years old. Wish I´d have thought to get some POR15 before I yanked it. I just sanded it a bit before putting it back in for now. Have to yank it again in a couple years and do that.
