Default The difference between 87 Vs. 93 tune.

Both the Brenspeed ones. I used the 93 for awhile but i do ALOT of daily driving and thought id save up on gas. (93 is 0.30 more than 87 over here). Plus me having a very heavy foot doesn't help. I uploaded the 87,(their both the same performance tune), and i think i might have felt a difference but it mightve been in my head. The only little difference if any was it felt as if it wasnt pulling as hard as the 93 did.

Has anyone else downgraded to 93 to 87? Like to here some input or opinnions! And yes i KNOW, i don't drive the stang for gas mileage or price

Yep, I have. And the 87 tune I have is definitely not as strong as my 93 octane tunes.

For 87 octane, the tuners purposefully limit the spark advance and all, for the sole reason to keep your car from detonating.

I must also mention that my 93 octane tunes are the 93 octane Performance and 93 octane Race tunes while my 87 octane tune is only an 87 octane Street tune which is written more for DD, fuel economy, and emissions, which is not so much focused on performance increase, even though I do feel an increase in power over the stock tune.

Yeh my 87 is still a performance tune though. There probably is a difference but i think most of it may be in my head. 0.o

I did the same thing. The only difference I noticed was it pulled a little bit less hard up around the redline. For normal driving, it is hard to notice, IMO.

According to Brenspeed, it's about a 10 rwhp difference between their 87 and 93 tunes.

My 87 octane tune is like night and day over stock and when I load up the 93 it will shred rubber thru 3 gears. I also advance the timing as far as the tuner will let me and Sct told me if I do that I need 97 octane min. I noticed a fuel mileage increase with the 87 octane tune but with the 93 I get the same mileage as stock but with way more zip. City and highway with 87 tune are 18/27 and on 93 15/22. With 3.90 gears I might add

My favorite tune is my 91 octane Brenspeed tune. It seems to have just as much power as the 93 tune but still has economy also. If I keep my foot out of it, I get just as good mpgs with the 91 as the 87 but still have the extra kick if I want to feel it. Still, the 87 tune is the most economical overall.

I read on here people with the tunes even with Autos say how the tires even chirp when the gears or shifting and how it is very touchy. Are they just overstating the effects of a tune?

I can see the 2011 being a beast with a tune, but a 05-10 just simply a tune transforms into an entirely different animal?

Yes a tune transforms a 05-10 Mustang into an entirely different animal..... I have 4 different tunes on my computer. I have a 87 tune that is basically stock with little adjustments, an 87 performance tune, an 89 performance tune, a 91 performance tune and a 93 performance tune. And I have used them all from time to time... The best Tune of the bunch for overall performance is the 91 octane tune... and yes at WOT I chirp wheels in almost every gear with my Auto tranny.
