Default RP Synchromax and the T5

Hey guys-

So ive seen some things around the interwebs about RP Synchromax causing the synchros on the T5 to fail... I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this on a late model pony (Mine is an 09)... I have 3 quarts of the stuff and im up in the air about whether to put it in or send it back. Thoughts welcomed.

Same here. I've been using RP products for a long time. Bikes, cars, what have you. You're always going to find that group of people that hate it. Whatever, it's been flawless for me. Never had an "Oil Caused" problem. Not sure where some of the hatred comes from, but you'll be fine with the RP stuff. Amsoil, same way. Either one in my book is fine.

Not to mention, pretty much any synthetic is probably going to be ok. Seemed like engines ran just fine back in the day with conventional oils. Even the lower end products kept them running and making those ponies. I personally feel people are getting too carried away with the whole "this oil's better than that one" stuff. Add oil, Turn Key, and give it hell!!!!

i was using RP for a while in my stang. But saw a post on here saying something about it having Moly in it and that could clog up oil lines or some such. Plus it didnt meet Ford spec or something. Was a while ago, I now use Mobil 1 but at the time of me using RP i had no issues. I will be changing to RP in the tranny and diff hopefully soon.

It has been said that Tremec recommends Syncromesh in the 3650. I know a few people who use the Pennzoil brand. Its cheaper and readily available. Im not sure about the RP. Call up Tremec and ask them. +1 (800) 401-9866
