Default Terrible Tranny sound, Help!

Hey guys,

So my tranny (A POS T5 w RP Synchromax) has gotten into the habit of making a nasty sound when I shift into third gear under a heavy load (Coming in at 4000+ RPM). The shift is fine (It gets in gear alright, doesnt lock out or even pop out of gear like it occasionally used to before I put RP in) but it produces a high pitched, whiney grinding sound. It is not an every shift problem, but occurs about 2 times per hour of driving.

I know nothing of trannies other than how to drive one and change the fluid. I hope that I am being paranoid and that its nothing. But it bugs the crap out of me and makes me wonder if something isnt going wrong with the tranny core.

Im wondering if dumping RP and putting in another fluid would help... What would you change it to? If you guys think I should have it checked out by a dealership, (Its still under warranty) ill have to change the fluid anyways...

Don't pay attention to the tranny from Idahoe ^, all your tranny needs is a good lube, and you can slam it home.

I hear they like Amsoil.

try lubing it up then ram it home.
If that don't work take it to the Dr. (dealership)

Your tranny may have a V.D. Tranny's live a whoreish lifestyle and often are diseased lol.

Ok enough with the transvestite joking.
Lube it. If it still grinds take it in to be looked at.

By lubing it I assume you mean change the fluid? Or am I missing something?

Sorry, Im a relative car noob and want to be sure of these things, and I dont want to seriously screw up my baby XD

I already dumped the RP in favor of an advanced auto parts Mercon V fluid (in anticipation of taking it in to the dr) Havent driven yet, but I am hopefull. Will let you know.

Update:

After going for a 25 mile drive in which I had a total of 5 hard accelerations including a high rpm quick shift from 2nd to third, the noise is still there. It is quieter, but there. I guess its time to make an appt w the doctor. I talked to the dealership techs today, they said it sounds like the synchro is going out I guess I get to start praying theyll fix it under warranty
