I am interested in that new raceway being built in Avondale. Must be close to opening. Do you know anything about it?
I kind of stopped keeping up with it when I found out there will be no drag strip, but a couple of friends of mine have been cart racing there. They tell me it's an extremely posh setup (60 million dollar facility). From what I understand, it should be fully open within the next couple of months. I met one of the guys who is building it at Lakefront Meet last June. For what I assume to be a multigazillionaire, he was a really down to earth guy.

They've been advertising that they will use a straightaway on the track as a single lane drag strip for special events, but the "return lane" would take you through 2 miles of twisties. My drag suspension and front skinnies can't handle that.

Thank you I appreciate the rest of your post/advice. I understand a clutch is a wear item and a replacement is in the cards eventually regardless. I wanted to put that off for a while, as in a couple years or so. I am beginning to rethink whether I should race this car now. Disappointing.

Exactly the type of experience I was hoping not to hear. You're making similar power to me SAE and the clutch couldn't even make it for two attempts before it was having major issues. That definitely puts me off to even bothering with the track for now.

Thanks, glad to see this thread back in the front. Nice times for a 18" radial. Impressed.

new best 60 foot and 1/4 mile for me... on concrete not track, stock 400 treadware tires and timed by an ipod though lol..

2.49 60 foot
13.34@112.7 1/4 mile, very happy with the trap speed

only mod is roush axleback exhaust. Will post more details when i get home from work, i think the 1/8th was 8.8 sec at 88 mph, 0-60 was 5.05 second with the 2.49 60 foot. My shifting was great this run
