Which GT should I buy?

You're on the right track trying to sell it on your own. Carmax honestly sucks. For me they were great until it came to purchasing and it all went down hill. Still got the car, but I'll never do business with them again.
Don't let the 05-10's 4.6's scare you, they may "only" make 300 hp but they're lighter than the Camaro and can make some good power with small mods until you go for the big daddy forced induction, if that's what you decide.
Welcome to the Mustang world. I used to be a HUGE gm nut until I bought mine Still have a lot of respect for all different kinds of cars!

Down here in south Texas where I'm at the guys seem to be buying the GT's with the Premium package 6speed manual then upgrading them as they see fit. Quite a few guys had Roush's and sold them for the 5.0's. These new coyote engines are a beast!
Me personally have a 2012 V6 6m coupe and i bought it from the dealers floor for $22000 out the door and I agree with the previous poster in that the new '11+ V6's are the best bang for the buck; putting out 5hp more than the 2010 GT V8.
Sure you lose some low end torx and the V8 grunt but you get a 7000 rpm screaming 305 horses and still get 33mpg and.....lower insurance payments.
Then of course, to be honest if I did have the money I would have got the 5.0 GT....

I'm thinking the price might be right for a low mileage 2007-2009 Mustang GT.
But I'm thinking I would like to supercharge it.
First of all, is this a good idea?
2nd, what is the cost for the part?
3rd, what is the typical HP gain?

At one time, several used 300 as the magical number on the horsepower.
