You're on the right track trying to sell it on your own. Carmax honestly sucks. For me they were great until it came to purchasing and it all went down hill. Still got the car, but I'll never do business with them again.

Don't let the 05-10's 4.6's scare you, they may "only" make 300 hp but they're lighter than the Camaro and can make some good power with small mods until you go for the big daddy forced induction, if that's what you decide.

Welcome to the Mustang world. I used to be a HUGE gm nut until I bought mine Still have a lot of respect for all different kinds of cars!

Me personally have a 2012 V6 6m coupe and i bought it from the dealers floor for $22000 out the door and I agree with the previous poster in that the new '11+ V6's are the best bang for the buck; putting out 5hp more than the 2010 GT V8.
Sure you lose some low end torx and the V8 grunt but you get a 7000 rpm screaming 305 horses and still get 33mpg and.....lower insurance payments.

Then of course, to be honest if I did have the money I would have got the 5.0 GT....
actually its 10 hp less than the 2010 gt.

Well, I got another response to my for sale ad. The guy offered me 24K. I told him I can sell it for 26.5K. He's still interested and asked for the VIN so he can talk to his bank for a loan.

Yayyy another V6'er ;p But it's about 5 LESS HP than the 2010 GT. I put a Cold Air Intake on mine and it puts it above the stock GT mark of ~310-315 Horses. The low end torque is right. Definitely can tell a difference but man, the CAI helps. CAI also gives it a surprisingly aggressive growl! I was SO surprised. My cousin thought I traded it for a V8 xD And if you get 33 MPG thats fantastic. 31MPG is what's on the sticker But yeah, as far as bang for your buck, I agree!

I have a 2010 V6 and my insurance classifies my car as a GT due to the vin on my car? I've asked over and over again what is the deal, it makes no sense.

I'm thinking the price might be right for a low mileage 2007-2009 Mustang GT.
But I'm thinking I would like to supercharge it.

First of all, is this a good idea?
2nd, what is the cost for the part?
3rd, what is the typical HP gain?

Some insurance companies do not look at engine size such as V6 vs V8....they look at the published horsepower and classify it from there. Might ask them about that possibility.

At one time, several used 300 as the magical number on the horsepower.
