Default Which GT should I buy?

Hey Guys,

Not sure where post?

I wanted to get your opinion on which newer Mustang GT to buy.
I'm looking for a 2006-2011.
Deluxe vs Premium?
Which in your opinion is worth getting or not getting?
I don't know if certain years or trim levels are experiencing problems.
Looking to keep it under 20K.

thanks for your input.

Well if you're looking for a 2011 GT for under 20k, you're looking at high mileage and no options. At least from what I see in my area.

You're probably looking at an '06 or '07 GT with a few options at that price range.

I got my 08 Premium for $19500 with 42,000 miles on the clock.

Just look around and be patient and play hard ball they will come off the price, if not, then walk, plain and simple.

The delux is the entry level GT and is a complete waste IMO. The interiors have no options and are very plain. The radio sucks too.

The premium will have the shaker 500 and either the satin/billet or carbon fiber interior trim pieces as well as leather seats. My buddy has and 07 delux ane when he saw my 08 premium he felt like he was jipped because of how plain his is.

Other than that, not much else to say. Other models to look for, although more expensive will be the California Special and Shelby GT. Both of them are premium models, just a little nicer bodies is all.

I would look for a 09/08...there are some good low-mileage cars out there!

I understand you can't compare a GT to a V6, but I got my 2011 V6 for $20K with 8,000 miles. It has the 305 HP which is ~5-10 horses less than the 2010 GT and probably more that previous GT's before that. Not to mention 31 MPG. I have baseline and.....It's nice. Really nice. The premium is about $2K more and has TONS of lighting options called MyColor and basically includes lots of accent lighting and leather. Very nice but can be annoying if you aren't good with lots of lights at night.

I'm not trying to change your mind by any means, just throwing out another affordable option for ya Let us know what you decide bud!

Thanks for the inputs so far,

Browsing Autotrader, came up with the following listing:
The 2010 Ford Mustang GT for 15,900 has a salvage title thus the price.

I like the Mustangs with the scoop, looks really cool.

Agree with the poster above. Stay away from the deluxe models especially since you are looking for used. I would look into a 2007+ as several of early issues were addressed by that year and the i-pod jack was included. You should be able to find a nice one for around your price range.

I did a search around the Dallas area +200 miles on autotrader using the following criteria:
2006-2013
Ford Mustang
8 cylinder
13000-17500
under 45K miles

I would show the results but i think the forum blocks it?

I'd really like the ones with the scoop.
I'd been in the 09 GT and it was a blast,
Good visability, and felt like you were in a cockpit.

I have both an 08 and the 11 V6. Very comperable performance wise, and both respond very well to mods. My only complaint....the plainliness of the V6. They're just so blah, even the Premium models like I have. Unless it's the pony backage they just scream bland. Now put a California Special front bumper on it like I plan to do with mine and get rid of those fugly rims, now we're talking...

Oh, btw....the visibility isn't bad per say in the 05+ Mustangs, but compared to the Sn95 platform it has some terribly bad blind spots. 30* off to the left (when the trim and the side mirror meets) is a terrible blind spot. So bad that depending on distance a car can be there and unless you move forward you can no see it. The rear quarter pannel windows are also near uselss. Neither of these spots is a problem on Sn95 platforms.
