PAXTON 2200 IMPELLER HELP
I have a Paxton 2200 on my 05 Roush. Noticed the inevitable oil seep coming from the front of the SC. I purchased an Input and Output Shaft Seal. Took the SC off the car and got as far as getting the nut off the impeller. What next? Is there some type of pull or key to remove the impeller? Any help, suggestion, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, good luck. If it were me I would have them work on the internals. If you put that thing back together wrong and it falls apart, your engine will be toast. If they put it together they should have some type of warranty.
What do they charge for a rebuild?

my paxton 2200SL was giving me problems as well. low miles on it, never abused or neglected. warranty was up so no easy fix. called paxton they want me to send to them with a 3 week lead time (other side of the country as well). The tech Jamie told me that it would only make noise if i changed the pulley for more boost or ran it without oil, neither of which ever happened. this noise arised about 14 months after installed, car was my dd for work, never dragged or raced in anyway. THey told me it was 765 dollars to replace the bearings...wouldnt give me any part numbers either. the said this was a "race" blower and that it would be cheaper if it was one of their "normal" units......am I supposed to just be an ignorant consumer here and hand them even more money for their faulty junk?......asked him to view a vid of the noise it was making while spinning the pulley (unit out of the car) and get back to me...i guess he forgot... just goes to show here that paxton doesnt care and just wants MORE money. In my opinion, (being the guy that already gave them how much cash for this kit???) they couldnt be bothered to help me try and figure this out without having the car parked for at least a month and more money thrown at them, quite the racket. I will never purchase a paxton/vortech product again! Regret.....they want a third of the unit cost of the damn blower to replace the bearings...ok...greed and carelessness is what i got from my experience with Paxton. go with someone else if you are looking for a blower is all i can say unless you enjoy pissing money away on inferior engineering.

Wow, good luck with that. I'd be scared to repair the super charger without some in depth tutorial.. did you find one? Also did you have the SL kit where Paxton says to replace oil every 7500 miles? My car came with the blower and when i changed the oil a couple of weeks ago with the special paxton oil, the old oil was straight black. I stupidly drove it for about 7k miles until i realized, after reading their online manual, SL=self lubricated and HO=engine lubricated. Easy to be misinformed by others.

I wouldn't attempt to repair it yourself if you don't know what you are doing you could damage the supercharger even more. I have seen places online that will repair them for less then what Vortech/Paxton charges. The reason why they don't give out part numbers for the seals and bearings is so you send it to them to fix obviously. However, there is places that will sell the identical if not the same parts.

You guys have it so easy these days (internet). In My day (Late 80's early 90's) you picked up a phone book or called 411 to try and find stuff...
two minute google search... the more things change, the more they remain the same

P.S. I'm not saying I would try to fix the SC myself but as far as parts go...there you go. Oh, and I want my spoon back!
