Default HELP! - 18" Wheel Size Question

Okay, so, Im buying new wheels. But I want to keep my tires. I plan on getting the AMRs from AM. I know my wheel size is 18, but is it 18x9 or 18x10?

Okay, so I think i answered my own question. As long as I get an 18 inch rim I'm okay. The 18x#, the # number is just the offset and it will just stick out further, am i correct?

Offset is the measured in mm and not indicated on the tire, it is a measure of backspacing for the rim. The max width of the rim is determined by the tires you have now... Post up the dimensions from the sidewall and someone can help advise. It would likely look like this: 235/45R18.

What size tires do you have? If they are 235/50/18s, then 18x9s might be too wide for the tires. If they are 255/45/18s, then they will look good on 18x9s.

Why limit yourself with the tires you have now? You can get good name brand tires for not a lot of coin if you shop around... Tire Rack, Discount Tire, etc...

I agree tire and wheel package is the way to go. Then you are sure if the fit. The AM packages have the correct offset and the price is hard to beat.

Well, the thing is. My tires are only 10,000 miles old. I'd hate to go out and buy brand new ones, you know? Plus, I don't have a grand to drop on the wheel and tire combos.

I have 18x10 rims and 275/40/ZR18 tires to fit, and I love them. I'd highly suggest new tires. Especially if your running the same stock tires Ford gives you. Depending on whether you want high performance summer or all season tires, I can help out on that info wise if you'd like. I prefer high performance summer tires. I run Nitto NT555's and love Nitto tires. Im thinking for my next set on going to Nitto NT05 tires which are max performance tires. Street grade slicks basically. Nitto in general is well priced and well known. If you can spend the dough, matching tires would be highly suggested if your moving to 18x10.
