Does adding a supercharger make starting in 1st harder?

Well if your a pansy A$$ and don't give your car any gas when easing from a stop, then your friend is correct, regardless of whether there is a bypass valve, the screws still turn, and they are big pieces of metal... but if you give it some gas then he is very mistaken.
Either way, who cares, when you are on it, it is on!

To the OP the answer is no a PD makes getting the car moving easier if anything not harder. First off remember the computer is controlling throttle opening not you. So if there was parasitic drag at idle which there isn't you'd never know as the throttle plate would be open enough by the computer to hold the rpm needed. I back out of my garage and can let the clutch out and start rolling forward without ever even touching the gas pedal and this is after the car is warm enough for the idle to drop back to the normal 800 rpm.

All the supercharger kits are so seemless, that you wouldn't even know it was there till you stomp on the gas. Except for a procharger, those things make a loud racket at idle.

That's pretty much what I was going to say....and depending on what type of supercharger you choose, power will be more instantaneous than others..

Mine has absolutely no trouble starting from a dead stop in 1st, 2nd, hell even 3rd I can roll and not stall it.

After installing the Whipple on my '08, it was actually easier. Seemed to have more grunt right at idle. Times I know the stocker would have stalled, it just kept going. And by the time you are at half throttle and increasing, you won't care about taking off!

Your friend just doesn't want you to have a supremely cooler car than him. Get the supercharger then steal his GF!

As we speak I am creating another user name on this forum, just so I can make threads and post with both names mainly because I have nothing better to do. Haters gonna hate.
