For months I've been seeing that people are getting new '13's out the door for upper 20's. I'm getting close to being ready to trade my car in, but I can't even find a low mileage 2011 GT for mid 20's within a hundred miles. I'd prefer to be in the low 20's... I am looking for an automatic (No debate, it's gotta be an auto so the old lady can drive it, biggest motivator for trading) so that is narrowing my field by a lot.

There is a grabber 2011 nearly 250 miles away for $23.5. I'd be cool with spending a day or a weekend to go get a car, but has anyone done negotiating BEFORE going that far away? I don't want to drive that far and get a ridiculous low-ball offer for my '06.

What are prices looking like elsewhere? Even most 05-09's with reasonable miles are nearly 20K around here.

Well prices are really going to depend on supply and demand. I drove two hundred miles for my '11 V6 premium, auto. I called first and started the negotiation on the phone. I was very up front and honest. I told them what I was looking to spend, what I was going to put down (not trading in), my credit score, AND that I was looking at another car in the area. They were not going to lower the price at first but I let them run my credit ( so they were able to see I have excellent credit and don't mess around) and was anlagen to get them to drop the price alittle. I talked to them a few different times, I wanted them to know that they were not the only car dealership I was looking at. I was actually able to he the final price, and interest rate set in stone before I even went down there. Saved me alot of hassles to have everything already taken care of before I got there. I didn't have to sit and play the cat and mouse game "on there turf", I did it on my terms with no pressure.

Nice. I may go through my current lender and get pre-approved, so that should give me an edge. I'd prefer to not throw in any cash though, so I want/need a good trade in.

I'm also getting very tempted to get out of Mustangs and get a Jeep Wrangler. I've got a good local hook up and a Wrangler would be very practical for me.

I've been looking around here for a '11+ here too and not having much luck. There is a 2012 manual, which I prefer, at one dealer with less than 2K miles they want nearly $29 for. Available 6's outnumber GT's by nearly 5 to 1 here. Then they want to give virtually nothing on trades. A bit frustrating.

Does she tell you what to wear?
Teach her how to drive or find another woman that can.
If she can't drive a stick how safe a driver could she be?
Does she need her right hand to text while driving or something?

Just drove a Wrangler and a 2013 V6. The Wrangler is out of the question now, even the V6 was awesome. I know what everyone's opinion here would be, but I'm even considering a new '13 V6. We'll probably still get a 11/12 GT, but a 13 V6 for nearly $20K and 0% financing is awfully tempting.

Oddly, the V6 in the 2013 Mustang puts out the same horsepower as a 2009 V8-powered Mustang GT! The gas mileage on it is very good as well.

If I do get another Mustang, it is going to be a GT like my other four were. In today's economy, that probably means it will be a long, long time before I get my hands on one. Doh!
