I would suggest that anyone considering a PA Performance alternator check the customer comments on the AM website and also the warranty on the PA Performance website.

The belt has a tendency to squeal, because the PA pulley does not have a one way clutch, which the Ford alternator pulley on the 4.6L does have. This is the case for '07; I don't know about other years. This lack of a clutch can also shorten the life of the belt.

For the warranty to be in effect, it appears you need the high performance wire for either the 130 or 200 amp alternator. The 200 amp is only warranted for 12 months; the 130 amp has a lifetime warranty, but you have to jump through hoops to have it honored.

My thinking is to only buy the PA if you are having an issue with the Ford alternator, and not switch solely to have peace of mind.
