Default on again off again speedo

Has anyone had the issue with speedo not going back zero at stop. Eventually resulting in indicating 130mph while doing 20 mph. Today it zero'd back again. Is this a computer/sensor issue? Thanks in advance for any help

I think the some of the 05 and 06 had problems with the stepper motors for the gauges

Definitely sounds like a stepper motor going bad. You can get them on eBay if you have the talent to solder them in.

considering the OEM stepper motors are unreliable, do they make an aftermarket stepper motor thats more hardy? Also, if you buy a new cluster gauge, do they come with stepper motors?

The 05's and early 06's had/have this problem. The newer stepper motors are fine.

Yep, stepper motor issues are common with the 2005 models.
I have issues with my RPM gauge, gas gauge & thermostat gauge.
They will either get stuck or they won't move at all.
Knock on wood, I haven't experienced any issues with my speedometer gauge.
