Finally doing a bunch of mods after 7 years...

Added a BBK CAI this week and just ordered BBK Ceramic Long Tubes, BBK High flow catted X-Pipe and Borla Stingers Type S catback (along with a Bama iTSX Wireless tuner)

I have a 2006 GT Convertible...how will this setup sound when idling with the top down? I know it will be loud when punching it....definitely want that...just want to make sure that I can still talk to my passenger when sitting at a light or traveling at low speeds. How about drone while driving on the highway with the top down?

Anyone running this or similar on an 05-09 Convertible?

I have the same headers & midpipe, but I had flowmaster Hushpowers. Although I have a coupe, the drone inside was bearable, not to harsh. The loudness was a little more than mild id say.

Now I have Corsa Xtremes and there's no drone at all which is awesome, and the loudness has gone up a bit. When I cruise it's a normal amount but WOT is like a bat outta hell lol. Idk how the stingers sound at all but I've seen them and it looks kind of similar to the Hushpowers.

You may have a slight drone but no biggie. You can always cut in some mid mounted resonators like Pypes m80s to clean up the tone if it's too much for you.

Idling and cruising shouldn't be bad with the top down. You'll certainly be able to talk to your passenger, but my have a little drone (bearable). At WOT, the engine will sound amazing, there's no doubt about that!

I think you're really going to like the upgrade. Not just the aggressive exhaust tone, but the increased power too. With a Bama custom tune and your LT headers installed all at once, your GT is going to feel like a different animal!

Post back once you get everything installed and let us know what you think. I'm sure you'll be pleased!

Thanks everyone....Got the catback Borla's on along with a BBK cold air intake...and yes, it sounds amazing. I do get drone at around 1900 RPM....but am learning to change my shift points a bit so I cut down on the drone on any constant basis. When on the highway, I stay in 4th when accelerating, or put on cruise control and it keeps me away from that drone RPM. Can't wait until I get the headers and catted xpipe on (hopefully we can get to that next week)
