fuse box question combining fuse 12v sources
okay i need a 12v switched source for my head unit, i want it on when in ACC, the on position, cranking, and started. apparently no fuse provides this. i found acc on, on is on, started is on, but when cranking it turns my head unit off. then i found one that is on when on, cranking, and started. but not ACC key position. can i combine these 2 fuses so it will provide 12v in everything but off? as in just running a jumper kind of from a side of both fuses? i just dont want my radio to shut off when cranking!! both fuses are pretty petty, pass. air bag indicator and heated seats that i dont have.. thanks!

im guessing if i hooked both fuses together it would just give the one without (key:acc) power that didn't originally have it? which wouldn't be a problem. i just need a 12v switched source for my radio with accKey, on, cranking, and started. and i would try it but i don't wanna create some short circuit. if my op doesn't make sense i can draw a diagram

and i went right to fuse 28 in the fuse box, this is the switched 12v in the harness. and it did not work. The reason might be in this thread i think http://www.carstereo.com/forum/showthread.cfm?tid=61601

i found acc on, on is on, started is on, but when cranking it turns my head unit off.

Other issue is the illumination wire. The best i could get was 12v to the illumination wire whenever the headlight switch is on, which is fine, but i like to leave it on auto, and when i leave it on auto, that wire i have the illumination wire hooked to is live regardless if the top light sensor turns the lights on or not. So in order for the illumination feature to work I have to operate the headlights manually. I couldnt find any wire in the headlight harness to supply 12v when the autolamp turns the headlights on, and no 12v when it picks up light. I guess I have to go to another harness for that to work.
I just want to get it to as factory as possible lol

I just wish it didnt turn off when cranking, but i guess i can deal with it.
