Default 3.7L 227ci and 228 ci

I recently purchased a 2011 3.7L v6 Mustang for my wife. I have been looking to upgrade the engine a little. I have noticed that there is apparently a difference in the parts for the 227ci and the 228ci. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I'm not aware of there being 227 c.i. and 228 c.i. versions of the 3.7. as far as I know the only distinct variants of the 3.7 are the transverse engine (for FWD cars) and the longitudinal engine (for Mustang and F-150.)

I was looking on ebay to maybe order a CAI unit. On the compatibility drop downs, the last one about the engine offers 2, a 3.7L 227 cubic inch and a 3.7L 228 cubic inch engine. If you use the 228, it says part not compatible. If you use the 227, the part is compatible. The engine has to one of the the 2, just not sure which one.

don't get a CAI off of ebay. get it from a reputable vendor who actually knows what customer support is.

CAI alone on any mustang is just for show. If you want to add performance, get a handheld with a tune from Lund, Brenspeed, or AM (Bama tune). You can keep you stock air box unless you plan on getting some upper engine work done like new heads or cams. 90% of the added power in a CAI/Tune combo comes from the tune itself.
