First Wash and Wax...2012 GT
#11
Thanks, everybody.
I do keep it in the garage, and for about a week (until it got rained on) I was pretty obsessive about wiping it down after driving it. I kinda wish it was a metallic black to hide some of the dust but oh well.

My black car second problem is that it has a bunch of scratches that are just plain awful. I am not sure how to get rid of them. The second is that it takes 4 hours to wash and wax my car and only 5 seconds of wind for the car to get dusty and dirty again. It's my first black car, I still love it though.

Hello everyone. New to the forum. About 2 weeks ago I picked up my 2014 GT and love it. (I came from a 98 V6) It's Black, and yes I also live in TX. Anyway this is my first black car so what kind of wax do you suggest? And material to use to wash the car? I'm using chamois right now, and microfiber for small touch ups. Don't want swirls. Thank you guys.
Btw you did a great job on washing and waxing yours. Love the reflection. Please tell me what all you did.

Try driving more and you won't have that much time to wax. Problem solved!
I live in the midwest and mine is my daily driver.
I park in the garage at night, and my workplace has a parking garage, so it rarely sits in the sun.
I've had it for almost 5 years and haven't waxed it yet (other than trying some out on the hood, which made no difference). I wash it when it's dirty with S-100 Cycle Care and it still looks great. The S100 leaves a barrier on the finish that makes everything easy to come off the next time I wash. Also performs similarly to Rain-X on the glass. Highly recommend.
