Yeah thats why I decided to hardwire it in. Your putting out close to the same money and its pretty easy to do. The sound quality is always there as well, and you dont have to seach for a station.

I tried the Wireless FM by Monster and hated it. The Drive+Play can be installed to use Wireless FM, Wired FM, or AUX. I tried the first two and neither would work well enough. I was forced to try those options as the AUX required an adaptor that the installer (BestBuy) did not have.Ended up that BestBuy had to buy it from CarToys and pass the cost on to me. They continued to install/uninstall/reinstall and then tweak this until it worked perfectly. Their install guarantee is worth it.

I'm liking the color version of this though. I may have to upgrade in the future.... I have the iPod video and what I'd LOVE to see is a Drive+Play that will support the video on these iPods. Now THAT would be cool!

If everyone was referring to the wireless I mentioned with the HK D&PII, I wasn't talking about the music. You can hard wire it. The controller that you use to navigate through the menu is now wireless.

I have seen the unit in person, and the screen clarity is pretty good.

I used this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1153337432303with my shaker 500 and it works great! I have the wire running under the center console and I simply put the iPod in the armrest. This unit hooks in through my AUX button and displays all song info on the shaker. It also keeps the iPod charged.

Good luck

in my 07 its there is an MP3 input in the glove box, I think it came standard with the shaker 500 system, all you need is the wire for the ipod, and your set.

Ihad nothing but problems with ipod conection from best buy. Had it in for three weeks battery went dead twice and lost all gauges in the dash. The tech at best buy told me about the problem before the install he had a printout from another tech in florida that ran into the same problem. I have a 06 gt with shaker 500 No problems since removing it last week.

You mean the center console box, right?

chrismakk69, if you're getting an '07 there IS an aux jack in the console storage. This is a new feature for '07.

I saw a thread over on the Brad Barnett forum for a new plug-and-play iPod setup. Apparently you just unplug the wiring from the back of the stereo and plug it into this adaptor, then plug the adaptor into your stereo. Then you can run the wire from the adaptor to anyplace you want to mount the iPod (inside glovebox, etc.) The adaptor allows your iPod to be fully controlled from the stereo. I'll see if I can find the link...
Yup, there's an aux jack inside the center console. All you have to do is buy the wire to connect the ipod with the jack at radioshack or something for 10 bucks. It's pretty nice, doesn't ever break up due to loss of signal, but it can't be controlled from the stereo though.

I purchased the Peripheral PXDP2 adapter from DiscountCarStereo. Worked as promised. I have mine wired to the console. The iPod is hidden from view and is easy to access if needed. Controlling the iPod with the stereo buttons is a little slow, but functional.
