C&L intake - not so cold
Be aware that just because C&L says it's a Cold Air intake doesn't make it true. I recently added one, and the air intake temperature as measured by my DiabloSports Trinity is substantially Higher than it ever was with the stock airbox. The shroud around the filter element must completely seal the element or the heat created by the engine raises the intake air temperature. I have not seen any CAI that has a decent shroud. I will be fabricating a few extra, small panels over the weekend in an attempt to actually seal the element chamber so that the nice straight tube from the MAF can actually suck in Cold air through the existing air feeder tube.
On my way home today, the outside are temp was 75. My new C&L "cold" air intake allowed enough engine heat into the mix to read an intake temperature of 130. Time to contact AM for a swap to an Airaid or simply go back to the original airbox.

Being that I come from a turbo backround, I see 130 and think thats pretty good, lol.
