Tune necessary for CAI?

Tune necessary for CAI?
Hello everyone!
I have a 2006 Mustang V6 with a K & N CAI and Flowmaster American Thunder muffler. A friend of mine told me that the computer system in the newer Mustangs automatically adjusts for any components you change or add to your car. Is this true? If not, would it be a good idea to have my car tuned specifically for my CAI and exhaust? Do I have to buy a tuner or can I pay someone to tune my car for me?
Thanks,
BW

RE: Tune necessary for CAI?
For a K&N the air flow change is minimal so no, you should not need a specific tune for that cai. There are some intakes (C&L, TI, etc.) that change require a change to the air/fuel ratios or the car will run too lean and lead to piston detonation.
If you truly want a performance upgrade and notice the results, a tuner would be an excellent investment.

I was really curious because I see all these ads for using tuners with CAI and I wanted to find out if it was a good idea to get a tuner to use in conjunction with the Aircharger?

from what i hear, a tuner makes it feel like youre driving completely different car. You can definitely feel a difference. Again, that is what I have read, but just to let you know, I do plan on getting a CAI with a tune.

Really... here is the translation for the ads that DON'T require a tune.....
"Get our great new filter that really does not pass any more air than your stock box, but looks cools. Because it passes such a little more air, your cars computer can make the tiny adjustment neccessary to use this CAI. Looks great, and you won't feel a thing!".
Don't waste your time. No tune needed.... no value.
