Default 99 cobra block

wow long frickin time since my last post... whats up?

alright, i was havin a conversation with a friend of mine about our cars like usual.. and heres what happened

Chiznad9: get this....I think that ford put the teksid blocks in the
early 99 models
Chiznad9: so you may have the mc jizz block on your hands
the07sniper: Come again
the07sniper: Leiman terms
Chiznad9: teksid 4.6 block...don't tell me you don't know
Chiznad9: do you?
Chiznad9: no?
Chiznad9: yeah?
Chiznad9: maybe?
Chiznad9: here's the scoop
Chiznad9: Ford outresourced a company overseas (italy I believe) to
produce their 4.6 blocks for DOHC applications in the 90
Chiznad9: 's
Chiznad9: the dates range from 93-99 I believe
Chiznad9: these aluminum blocks were made by the same company that
produced blocks for ferrari
Chiznad9: and they are the awesomeness
Chiznad9: they are rated to hold over 1400 hp
Chiznad9: and are light weight
Chiznad9: so if you have an early 99 cobra....you're probably in the
teksid club!! congrats! (maybe)

does me friend know what hes talkin about? does anyone know anything about this?

Edit: Ignore my last post, I am corrected.

The new edge Cobras, even up to 01, might have a Teksid block. I have seen 01's built in August of 01 with Teksid groovings.

The eaisest way to find out is look in your center valley where your intake sits over. If you see this kind of square gridding:

Its a Teksid.
If you see diamond type webbing in the valley, ts a WAP.

Does it really matter? No. It doesnt. Most Cobras wont even see the high amount of HP that that particular block can handle. SHM claims the WAP block can only hold 600HP, but I have seen 700-750HP on WAP blocks.

Doesnt really matter though. The internals on these blocks are similar to a glass jaw. They can only hold up to 450bhp safely. Get better internals, and you can boost the hell outta these blocks.

I would drop an 03/04 personally. They're heavier, BUT they come with forged internals .
