For the Win!

I've read this thread and had no desire to enter the fray. However, if you don't understand 1981's argument here, then you don't belong in the argument.

It's very obvious as to what the answer is to the original question: You might (might not) have him from the dig, so do what you can and hopefully make a point before triple-digit speeds because you will get reeled in late. I don't think there is much point to arguing this other crap based on the topic.

Go race the dude and let us know what the real world results are. For those arguing 100+ mph what-ifs, go try it and find out. 19 car lengths or 5 car lengths doesn't matter, the LT1 won't see the disappointment on our GT faces in either case.

Take your GT out and run one from a roll...I can promise you this....You will be seeing his tail lights fade away in the distance...
fine you win

from a roll to 130, the LT1 is faster, but if you start them both off at 100, it will be close becsaue of the powerbands the GT is at full and the LT1 is at its worst.
How can you say that? The GT makes it max power at 5200 and the LT1 at 5000. The GT's max torque is at 4000 while the LT1's is at 2400. Last time I checked torque wins races and hp sells cars. The GT is an auto and the LT1 has 6speeds. I'm pretty sure the LT1 driver wont be in 6th gear racing when at 100. More power is a downshift away for the LT1. THe LT1 will be leaving 3rd at 95mph with 3 gears left. So if they are starting at 100, the LT1 will be in it's max torque range then once they get going hit it's max hp.

GT - 3308
LT1 - 3460

Difference of 152 which if you wanna get real technical, how much does both drivers weigh?

I'm not mad, I'm just gathering information. My buddy has a 03 GT and I like his ride. I just started posting to defend the Camaro. Cuz nobody was really defending it.

with your mods my guess is your putting about 240-250 (250 if you're lucky) hp at the wheels. He is probably laying down the same if not more with the 6 speed. You need a shift kit (or hand held tuner to change shift points) and gears (4.10s) in my opinion if you wanna whoop his ***. I hate to say it, but my money is on the lt1 if he can drive.

NOTE to everyone: DO NOT read page 3, then 2, then 1.. it gets you lost....

im confused as to where roll racing came into the equation?
neither car is made for roll racing,, hence the 300+ tq rating, and sub 300hp rating..

race him from a (EDIT I TYPED ROLL< WHAT A MORON) dig*, from what ive heard an LT1 when driven correctly can magage 13.9's, and a 99-04 Auto is a 14.2-14.3 stock according to MANY posts...

figure in some driver error, and your mods, and youre looking at a VERY VERY good series' of races between two of the most Iconic American Muscle cars to ever exist.
(man, the hostility on this site has skyrocketed recently)
