Mod help on my 96 GT
I have a 96 GT with the standard T-45 tranny and I grind when shifting into 3rd or 4th hard. I assume replacing the synchros will solve my problem. I also need a new clutch, what kind of clutch is the best? While the trannie is down I am also gonna put some headers on, again I need your advice. Thanks

Do you also have a hard time dropping into reverse? I often find that I can not get into reverse until I put into first and roll forward slightly then drop into reverse. Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries before getting reverse. I suspect it is also a syncro problem. I do not see any problems shifting to third, however, I sometimes get a clunk going into forth. Maybe some on the forum can shed some light.

All Mustangs until 99 when the reverse gear was changed, had a problem getting into reverse. There is a tsb on ford for this problem. Also second gear. As far as the other gears, when 3rd and 4th start to go, its time for a new trans.
