Should I go with the racing ones or the FRPP. Also how much would a shop charge for damn installation?
Go FRPP. I paid $ 200 for my install.
200 is a good price, dont be shell shocked if you have to pay a little more. I wouldnt even bother with the dealership, I was down there the other day to pick up a lugnut key and just for ****s and giggles I asked what they charge for a ring and pinion install (i felt like a laugh). The guy told me $800

Sounds like gears could get a little expensive with install. Any cheaper mods for some good low end? Would a programmer be a good idea and if so which one. I've heard mixed reviews.

Changing exhaust moves your torque higher up the Rpm band, my car too doesn't feel as snappy off idle, but as I engage my clutch I now get a definitive snap as I take off and engage. I feel I lost torque under 1500 rpms, yet I can still chug along with stock gears in 5th gear at 40-45 mph without chattering. The difference I notice is my rear tires are getting eaten up faster, and I'm not doing burnouts, I'm getting more indiscernable slip from the rears when shifting. More torque, but higher in the rpm band. I'll bet you feel your car rolls better now, with the stock exhaust my car felt as though it "engine braked" more. Intake and exhaust mods make these cars very happy. Last week on a trip to Carlisle PA, I got 29.5 mpg, and I travelled 75-80 mph avg and was over 100 mph a number of times pissing with a Camaro. The car really takes off nice on the HWY. You can eliminat4e that lack of torque down real low with a tuner, but to me it's really not that bad, it actually helps keep my wheels from spinning too early on a launch. I'm amazed at what I'm eating at stoplight drags with stock gears. My panhard bar has improved my launches as well, I take off dead straight and hook up evenly. You'll get used to the change as I did, I wouldn't go back

and also in a race how often are you below 1500 rpms or even 2500 rpms for that. get gears they are by far the best investment and i got mine installed for 175. what year is your car

He doesn`t have to get a tuner. A speedcal will work on his car.
But yeah, a tuner would be a better way to go.

Is there any difference between the motive and FRPP gears? I see many have opted for the motive since they are cheaper but do they have the same quality as FRPP?

FRPP`s and motives are both about the same. The motives require more shimming to get them to line up right. I went with FRPP because they are a ford part and the install is easier.
