possible damage from driving with a bad MAF
my car (05 v6 manual) shows a P0108 code (manifold absolute pressure/barometric pressure circuit high input).
long story short, the problem didn't exist until i had some repair work done at a dealership. mil light came on about a mile out after picking it up.
at first they advised that it was a bad maf for some reason. said just clean it and it will be fine. might need to be replaced if the light comes back. but either way it was safe to drive for the 700mi trip i was taking the next day.
not so sure about that. by the time i got there, it sounded like a tractor, lost a good bit of power and the exhaust smelled like gas.
about to bring it in to get it fixed. can anyone give me an idea of what other parts could have been affected by driving that much with a bad maf? i get the feeling they're going to try to replace the sensor and nothing else unless i specify what i want checked.
i know it could be a wiring issue and the cat could be pretty screwed. anything else?
